Maniable
Produced during a residency in a collective space in
Bas-Saint-Laurent, Qc, Canada, Maniable uses a text published in the
second issue of Mainmise (1970-1978), a magazine considered "the
organ of Quebec’s
counter-culture". The words "alternative" and "utopia"
join a psychedelic, vaporous aesthetic to affirm the contemporary
character of the text, published in December 1970. By removing all
mentions of dates or historical markers, I reveal the fundamentally
current character of the manifest-like text.
