Leaflet 1981-2020

Through the imagery of the leaflet, I reflect on the independence (Quebec) and autonomist (Alsace) movements that turned the 1970s and 1980s upside down. From an apparently absent archive, I offer a contemporary reading of these periods. Thus, it is not an exercise in anachronism, but rather in anhistorism; in this idea that it restores my current preoccupations to one of their conditions of emergence. As a result, we read there a text contrary to the cultural-identity discourse that we would believe to find there.

This work was presented in the exhibition Stones of Bad Tongues.
